Two interior doors from the 1970s, about nine feet tall and around 170 pounds each, made from tight-grained old-growth sapele. Tops trimmed and bottoms rebuilt with new sapele blocks; hinge areas and a hardware block patched. The original finish reacted to both lacquer thinner and alcohol, so the finish plan changed to a shellac sealer followed by polyurethane, two full cycles across four faces.
Practised. A named person did this at a bench. Claimed. Nobody outside the maker's shop has checked it yet.
